The sample digestion is controlled automatically in the Combustion Module (Oven + ABD ). The principle is simple: An optical fiber guides the light generated during combustion from the pyrolysis oven to an optical sensor. This measures the intensity of the light and controls the feed of the sample boat into the oven proportionately. As a result, the duration of the combustion is optimized in such a way that it is, on the one hand, always complete (no soot formation), while at the same time, on the other hand, permits one to dispense with waiting times as safety buffers.

Thanks to the automated control of the sample digestion, method development for the combustion is dispensed with completely; not only different samples but also different sample amounts can be handled with one universal "method".
